A Family Business Since 1900
Salvatore Sindoni, founder of Sal's Qualtity Market
In 1900 Antonio Sindoni started a grocery and meat market on Broadway in Schenectady. Six years later his son Salvatore was born and eventually he was working at his father's market.
Over the years Sal owned a number of businesses, but eventually he opened a small grocery shop in Schenectady, New York, just like his father.
It was 1943 and he named that business Sal's Quality Market.
Sal's son William grew up working in his father's business, just like his father, and eventually, in 1977, bought the business to concentrate more on meats.
William operates the business to this day with the help of his wife Jo, his sons Michael and Thomas, and nephew James.
